The R3 Postpartum Method provides general educational information about nutrition, movement and strength after birth. It is not medical advice, diagnosis or treatment. It does not create a clinician and patient relationship, and it does not replace care from your own healthcare professional.
Talk to a qualified healthcare professional before starting or changing physical activity after birth, particularly if you had a cesarean or a complicated delivery, if you have any ongoing symptom, or if a clinician is already managing something for you.
For the last of those, please contact your doctor, midwife or health visitor today. If you are in immediate danger, contact your local emergency services.
R3 does not promise, and cannot promise, a specific amount of weight lost, a specific waist measurement, a flat stomach, the elimination of loose skin, the closure of an abdominal separation, the preservation or increase of milk supply, the reversal of any medical condition, a hormonal reset, a metabolic repair, or fat loss from any particular part of the body.
Abdominal separation and pelvic floor symptoms are properly assessed by a clinician or a pelvic health physiotherapist. R3 provides general strength and coordination work, which is what the evidence supports, and tells you when to go and see someone.
R3 does not prescribe a universal low-calorie intake, and never asks a breastfeeding woman to run a deficit. Anything concerning supply or your baby's growth belongs with your midwife, health visitor, lactation consultant or doctor.
Any result described anywhere in R3 is the experience of a specific person, shared with permission, and is not a prediction of yours.
